Homologation Special Time Attack Competitions

It seems there were 3 Time Attack competitions on Homologation Special.  These took place between 17 February -  30 March 2000, shortly after the game's release.  I discovered this from the News page from the old Japanese ranking site (https://web.archive.org/web/20020608221435/http://segagt.dricas.ne.jp/whatsnew.html).

First Competition: Sega Challenge Cup 1st Match

Course:         SKY PEAK HILL
Car:               ALTO WORKS RS/Z 2WD
Date:             17 - 27 February 2000

Second Competition: Sega Challenge 2nd Match

Course:         SKY PEAK HILL
Car:               GEMINI C/C
Date:             29 February - 5 March 2000

Third Competition: Holiday Auto Special Cup Round 1

Course:         SNOWY MOUNTAIN
Car:               ANY LICENSED CAR (No Works or Carrozzeria vehicles)
Date:             10 March - 30 March 2000

In order to enter these competitions, you had to register on the Sega GT website and upload a copy of your VMU save file.  A special ranking board was in place for these competitions that sadly was not archived. However results from the third competition (Holiday Auto Special Cup Round 1) were provided:

First of all, we would like to thank a total of 282 people for their entries. Looking at the results, there are a lot of GTOs. In this game, if the rear wheel drifts, you won't be able to make a good time, so the golden rule is to have a car that tends to understeer. In real life, the GTO lags behind its rivals, but in the game it accelerates while turning, making it quite fast. Gamers must be scared! What surprised me even more was the speed of the TRD3000GT. The technology that perfectly controls the high power FR is top notch. I was impressed.

The prizes in question for the third competition were 'Holiday Auto' branded t-shirts & mobile phone straps, Sega GT stickers and the infamous Sega GT jackets.

Site users could download the winner's ghost cars (certainly for the first competition anyway).  Unfortunately no ghost cars or replays have been archived.
