In order to enter these competitions, you had to register on the Sega GT website and upload a copy of your VMU save file. A special ranking board was in place for these competitions that sadly was not archived. However results from the third competition (Holiday Auto Special Cup Round 1) were provided:
First of all, we would like to thank a total of 282 people for their entries. Looking at the results, there are a lot of GTOs. In this game, if the rear wheel drifts, you won't be able to make a good time, so the golden rule is to have a car that tends to understeer. In real life, the GTO lags behind its rivals, but in the game it accelerates while turning, making it quite fast. Gamers must be scared! What surprised me even more was the speed of the TRD3000GT. The technology that perfectly controls the high power FR is top notch. I was impressed.
