DC-UK

I took a look around on archive.org and Google Groups to see if I could find a copy of DC-UK's "Goodbye Folks" message but sadly no joy.  The closest I came was a posting on the old dreamcastuk.net website about the closure however it added nothing new.  However on my travels I came across some of the old ABC figures for the UK Dreamcast magazines, including DC-UK.  From July '99-December '99, DC-UK had a circulation base of 28,857.  This dropped to 20,383 between January-June 2000 and then down to 17,162 between July-December 2000.  The same charts show ODM having around 50,000 during the same periods and Dreamcast Magazine (Paragon) starting with around 41.5k and then declining to about 22k. Poor old Dreamcast Monthly (Quay) had less than 10k during its short run.

DC-UK The Magazine closes (posted 21/03/2001)

Unfortunately, I have to report that the popular Dreamcast magazine DC-UK is closing its covers for the last time. Due to a change in Future publishing strategies and the cease of Dreamcast production, this was the outcome. The editors are very sad about this, but keeping to a monthly schedule when the console is no-longer available does seem quite a task. I enjoyed reading it, and will miss the humourous yet serious way it was produced.

For more information regarding this, have a look on their website: http://www.dc-uk.co.uk

Just to calm rumours, so far the policy regarding dreamcastuk.net will be that the site will remain open and has no intention of closing down until further notice

Dreamcast Magazine Celebrates ABC figures (posted 16 February 2001)

Dreamcast Magazine is still the best selling independent Dreamcast magazine in the UK proved by recent ABC (Audit Bureau of Circulation) figures.
Monthly sales figures show an average of 22,970 sold per month which has led to two competitors being forced out of the market. The Dreamcast Magazine editorial team are delighted with the results and jubilant Editor Simon Phillips commented "It's great news!" before skipping about the office like a loon.
